The Auro Community Garden is a community project sponsored by the Auroveda Operation Foundation, LLC. The purpose of the garden is to build and reconnect the local community back to its natural resources and to educate and encourage people to grow their gardens and create awareness of the needs of the community as a whole.
It is the creation of Dr. John Hill, Dr. Maria Scunziano-Singh, and Dr. Pariksith Singh and the Auroveda Foundation, a non-profit affiliate of Access Health Care.
The purpose of the community garden is to stress upon the environmental, social, health and economic benefits. The garden looks forward to bring sustainability and meaning to the life of its members. It also serves to bring local grown produce into the limelight and also to share why it is best.
Being part of nature brings forth a lot of Nutritional and health benefits. These are primarily connected with improved mood that comes by being in the aura of the garden. Gardening is also a great way for weight loss, overall toning and strengthening of the body. It also an aide in improving your mental being as gardening is a great way to de-stress.
The Auro Community Garden welcomes all members of the community. Through the collective gardening knowledge of its members and outside sources, it strives to teach all members sustainable gardening practices.
