Elizabeth Hatz, DOs and has been practicing medicine in Port Saint Lucie since 2012. She graduated from the Kansas City University of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. KCU is the largest medical school in Missouri and one of the five original schools of osteopathic medicine. Dr. Hatz is proud to be part of the heritage of traditionally-trained osteopathic physicians. She practices the osteopathic principles of wholism, the capacity of the body to heal itself, the reciprocal relationship of structure and function, and treatments based on these principles. She understands that the word “doctor” originally meant “to teach.” Her approach is empathetic and personal. She believes in patient autonomy and will partner with patients to create the best outcomes. She likes patients who ask questions and like to learn, as well as patients who need more guidance. She strives to be aware of individual needs and knows that one approach does not work for every patient. She enjoys preventive medicine and encourages her patients to be informed and pro-active and to use the minimal amount of medical interventions needed to keep themselves healthy. She performs osteopathic manipulation as well as provides evidence-based care of simple or complex chronic conditions such as COPD, diabetes, thyroid conditions, and hypertension. She also performs office procedures such as pelvic exams, skin exams and biopsies, and minor in-office surgical procedures. Dr. Hatz and her family enjoy the sunshine in Florida and all of the outdoor activities that provide. She enjoys tennis, equitation, diving, riding motorcycles, and world travel. Dr. Hatz is currently welcoming patients from 18 to geriatric.
